Is there a map in such detail for the whole world? Is Google going to take over the world? Too many questions and too few answers...

mmmm looks like it's another google joke
it seems that this pic is taken from a helicopter as most of the ppl in it is looking up (they can't be looking to the satalite or can they :P)
maybe it's google april's foul day joke :D
btw the pic is in the middle of chad (according to the map) so it's not in the middle of nowhere anyway :P

I do not know how this pic have taken, maybe Google has a telescope on the moon or on any another planet and also they has an awesome microphone or any device like it with the ability to focus the sound in a specific area, then they used it to say "cheers" & have taken this pic... :D.
Another scenario, yeah, they are looking to the satellite :-p.

the philosophy of capturing such map and making 'em available all over the word is said to that they are helping the tourism ( as one of the services they provide ) actually not all the world is mapped like in this zoom , but its going to happen sooner or later.
furthermore they are not the only providers for this service Microsoft also provides that through http://maps.live.com try to download da application and c chicago ;)
BTW :- yeah , da most well known scenario , is that they use satellites ( as they say ) plus i think its most logical , they won't fly all around a city to paparazzi every portion
just another point is that satellite doesn't mean its live , its stored database captured , concerning the capturing process , they dont own any tool , they dont know either to use the tool ( or may be they know but its not there part of the business , simply they buy this databases from a specialized companies.
